Founded in 1977, the Spanish Federation of Hospitality (FEHR) is made up of 75 business associations from the hospitality industry throughout Spain. It is the only business organization on a state level that represents the collective of over 360,000 companies that make up the Spanish restaurant industry.

FEHR represents all of the different kinds of companies that belong to hospitality sector: restaurants, cafeterias, bars, restaurant chains, accommodation and nightlife. This sector employs 1.2 million people and has a sales volume of 111,215 million Euros (figures from 2008), accounting for 6% of Spain's GNP.

FEHR also includes AQUÍ ESPAÑA, the Association of Spanish Restaurateurs from around the globe, which brings together those who own of establishments abroad.

The Spanish Hospitality Federation:

• Structures the sector in the form of an association and defends the interests of the large collective that it represents.
• Encourages the training and education of those that work in the sector and the professionalization of business owners and workers alike.
• Is a business services centre with high added value that aims to improve the management and competitiveness of its associated companies.
